HTML content in your Microsoft Gadget

December 14, 2005

Donavon has posted a sample gadget illustrating the use of javascript helper method which allows you to pull HTML out of your manifest file and into your script as elements to program against which will then be loaded as the content of your gadget, making gadget building even simpler than before.

I like the idea of using the manifest file for more than just pointing to dependancy files. All though, this does show the need to move towards a specific gadget schema and away from the current rss based xml.

And this out the day after google releases their module system which includes html in the manifest file. You’ve got to love how quickly ideas spread.
